Selv collects nothing about you, because it has nowhere to send it.

Nothing. Selv has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party SDKs of any kind. It does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data.
The app contains no networking code at all — no URLSession, no sockets, no network framework linked into the binary. There is no server to talk to and no code capable of talking to one. The app behaves identically in airplane mode, which is the simplest way to verify this for yourself.
Your chats, messages, photos, files and voice notes are stored in the app's own container on your device. They are included in your encrypted iPhone or iCloud device backup, which is managed by Apple under Apple's terms — Selv itself never uploads anything.
Selv reads text out of the images you save and transcribes the voice notes you record, so that you can search for words you never typed. Both use Apple's on-device frameworks (Vision and Speech) and both run entirely on your iPhone. The optional per-message translation uses Apple's on-device Translation framework. Apple may download language models to your device for these features; your content is not sent anywhere in the process.
Each is asked for at the moment it is needed and can be revoked in Settings.
Deleted items sit in Recently deleted for seven days and are then removed for good, attachments included. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Selv is rated 4+ and contains no user-to-user communication, no web browsing and no advertising. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it.
